July 15 VML... where i workI have been blown away by the people I work with at VML. Incredibly intelligent and proactive and pragmatic. Our challenge is to bring research and strategic design into the "ad mentality" that exists here. Such huge opportunites with Microsoft, we just finished some concepting work for the big campaign next year, and much of the incredible ideas the team came up with were left out because we are being filtered by our holding company that doesn't get it. With the social anthropoligst we had come in on this, i feel like i have lived in China. So this post is a placeholder as I have at least 30 posts in my head for this weekend, hard data and insights on dynamic ad/brand serving in online gaming and wonderful Powerpoint presentations from Ad:Tech. And I need to give vml so much credit. I am also sitting down with some Trademark lawyers next week and putting some of my ideas into motion. Expensive but has to be done... wonder what companies using Logoworks will think when they get their asses sued for paying $40 for an unresearched logotype? CREATIVITY IS NOT A COMMODITY!!! And now, another all nighter for the AIGA and 150 pages into Neal Stephensons "The Diamond Age".
